Fish Haven - Geo Shipyard, Inc. built this Hysucat for the Mississippi department of Marine Resources to use along their coast to survey the bottom of the Mississippi Sound and the Gulf of Mexico. They chose the hydrofoil-supported catamaran design for its smooth ride and stability. They chose aluminum for its ease of maintenance. The vessel was designed by Viking Fastcraft Solutions. The Fish Haven has a very spacious cabin with a control station on the starboard side, a two-man passenger seat on the port side (both mounted on storage boxes), a settee that converts to two bunks, a large survey desk, a head, a small galley cabinet w/ sink and refrigerator, and a large Cutty forward. This Vessel’s displacement catamaran hull design was acquired from Mr. Malcolm Tennant of New Zealand. The remainder of the engineering was performed by Mr. Glenn Ring with Advanced Fabrication and Mr. Roger Fyffe with Fyffe Yachts - both of Houston, TX.
